An amazin' volume of sound for a Trio, by far the loudest on the listenin' side of Dazzle's Music Venue. THE END OF A CENTURY OF JAZZ: BIG Band Leader & Legendary KC JazzMan, Jay Columbus "Hootie" McShann died today @ the tender age of 96[90?] ( b. Muskogee, OK 01/12/1909[1916?] - d. 12/07/2006. Vital in The Territory Band Era of The 1930's (Charlie Parke, Gene Ramey, & Father Time, Gus Johnson were members of his 1938 -'43 Band --- "Blues From Kansas City, 1941-43 [MCA]), Maestro McShann became a major proponent of The Blues, contributin' The Standard, "Confessin' The Blues". He's seen in a wonderful interview w/ Clint Eastwood (The Pianist Segment (also Dave Brubeck & Ray Charles) as part of Martin Scorsese's 7-Part "Blues" Series.
