JANE BUNNETT AND "THE SPIRIS OF HAVANA" TO PERFORM AT MOUNT VERNON COUNTRY CLUB
On Thursday, November 16th, Mount Vernon is pleased to welcome back Jane Bunnett and her group, The Spirits of Havana. The flautist, soprano saxophonist along with her husband, trumpeter Larry Cramer have immersed themselves in Cuban music since visiting the island nation for the first time in 1982. The Spirits of Havana includes some of the great masters from Cuba. Jane is considered one of the top jazz saxophonists active today. Her passion for folkloric Afro-Cuban music has spawned more than six CDs and a recently aired and award winning documentary film. Jane has released 2 CD projects over the past couple of years on EMI/Blue Note called Red Dragonfly and Radio Guantanamo: Guantanamo Blues Project Vol. 1.
